Certainly good advice to be careful when dealing with people who 
don't appreciate the details of the problem.

I think he'll be more amazed how lacking VB is compared to VFP. Yes 
it's true, the GUI side of VB is very similar to VFP and is easily 
learned. That much would be amazingly simple to pick up.

However, aside from the GUI, there's cumbersome data handling 
(compared to vfp), 3rd party reporting tools to learn, lots more 
needed uses of Win32api calls, and if this is VB6 no true OOP 
capability. So I'd say those aspects are not that easy to learn 
coming from VFP which integrates all those things far easier IMO.

Yes, it's still not *that* hard to transistion from VFP to VB6, but 
you're making it sound far easier than I think it really is. In fact, 
the transition the other way VB6 -> VFP would be amazingly simple in 
my opinion.

But you know what they say about opinions.. ;)
