We recently acquire 2 new cats. The first, Vaska (the typical name for an alley cat in Russia), and the second, Mario. Vaska was completely wild, a street cat from Day One, and nothing but skin and bones when we "rescued" him and gave him a warm home in which to live, eat, sleep. The second, Mario, we adopted after we found him at the base of the tree in which poor Vaska had lost himself for two days. Mario apparently was previously loved by a family but somehow got lost or was abandoned. He's a lovable cat, very tolerant of all our other cats, and exceedingly well-tempered. Vaska, however, has some "forgiveness issues" toward Mario. Apparently, Mario had frightened Vaska into the tree. Vaska heretofore had been the ultimate fighting cat, with a meow as ferocious as anything a racoon could muster, but he found his match, and then some, in Mario. All would be well if Vaska ignored Mario, but no, he has to "make a stand," and "protect home and hearth" from the dangerous Mario. Now we have accepted both, but Vaska rejects Mario, and continuously gets his ass pummeled by Mario in head-to-head fighting matches, always initiated by Vaska. It takes him typically three days to heal from the scratches and gashes left by Mario's much bigger claws. There's a parable in here somewhere. Henceforth I shall call Ricardo by his new "kitten" name, Vaska. - Publius "Mario" Maximus > > Carl > > > > [excessive quoting removed by server] _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
