Michael, I have been using Vonage since Feb 2004. I use it as my business line and my fax line. Bottom line, it works just fine. No problems no irritations. I have it directly billed to a business card and there are no surprises. My rate for either line has not changed in years.
My son has been using it for a comparable length of time. He is a software engineer with Cisco working VOIP. I have the plan where I call the US and Canada. Now for the same price they let you call a good chunk of the world. The price is the same and sometime I will ask to switch. I do have a client in India - but we seldom interact.... The only problem existed at startup. It was resolved when I moved the Vonage modem to another room. It is now away from the wireless router, wireless phones, computers, and cable modem.
