I'm not sure where the rest of the world will go. I know the company I'm
with is looking at .NET.

LearnDevNow.com and LearnCertNow.com are online versions of the AppDev
training.

I've gotten a subscription to the LearnDevNow site. These are just the
videos, not the associated materials. Just started so I've not got a
balanced view yet.

We are looking at C# because the look of it is vastly different than VFP
code it stands out and helps the brain adjust to thinking in .NET rather
than VFP.

Subject: .NET and other languages for a VFP developer

Hi all,

I've been working in VFP (and earlier versions of the product) for years,
but with my company probably being sold this year, I feel it's time to begin
educating myself in other languages.

So, what does everyone suggest? What's easiest for a VFP person to learn?
What languages are most in-demand in marketplace? I'm sure I'll be getting
into .NET, but which language within .NET should I focus on?

And finally, does anyone have a good suggestion for training materials?
Books, DVDs, etc.? I'm gonna see if I can get the boss to spring for some
stuff to help me in the inevitable transition. J

Thanks very much!

John
