Life for everyone would be so much easier if you Americans just REGULATED your financial markets. You gave us one world-wide depression and nearly a second one. You would think by now you would be looking afield at examples of rich prosperous nations that DONT destroy their economies and try and model on those. And just as a clue... that involves regulation of financial markets.

I believe that paulson picked the merchandise based on what I've heard and that the buyer was not aware of it. Just on line 3 above, it is fraud if the product was not rated properly, or goldman submitted inaccurate documentation to the rating agency. Then when you add in line 4 where paulson picked it and sold it as AAA and then bet on it to go down, well lets just say that their is something fishy going on. Then to watch the goldman ceo have no remorse, I realized that he would have no remorse selling any american company offshore as long as it went in his pocket. Somehow, somewhere, we have lost our moral compass and we've forgotten the terms of putting god and country first. I don't know who said that line, but I can guarantee you that somehow, someway he saw what would happen if we would sell the rope that the russians would use to hang us with to the russians.
