It sounds similar to one I got a few weeks ago. I was surprised since
I was running Firefox, but after reading about it, it's a security
hole in Flash, so any browser is vulnerable, and you know how many
pages use flash, right?

From a separate computer I googled how to get rid of it, and was
able to do without a re-install.

In a nutshell, I had to reboot in safemode, clear out temp files, and
look in windows directories for any new files that looked suspicous.
I also had to delete some registry entries.

Once the registry entries were gone, the virus did not seem to re-run
once I came into Windows normally. From there I could browse again
and run malwarebytes to find and remove any left over junk.

Consequently, a friend of mine had to use a restore point to get rid
of it, but that might have been a different version of the virus.

Good luck-
Steve
