I stand corrected. I do remember running into situations where an empty table 
structure doesn't get created but that apparently wasn't it. The perils of 
typing before testing...

Not correct.  Created goConn connection to my MySQL database and ran this query:

? SQLEXEC(goconn,[select * from errorlog where 1=0],"curcrap")

Returned '1' for the SQLEXEC return value and created an empty cursor called 
curcrap.
