I have been using the "latest and greatest" KDE compiled for Debian
"Potato" for several months now without ANY problems. My current
install says it is version 2.1.2! Visit http://kde.tdyc.com/ or
http://kde.debian.net/ and scroll down the page a bit. You should find
some lines you can place (add) to your /etc/apt/sources.list file for
these archives. Once you have them installed in the file do a "apt-get
update" and a "apt-get dist-upgrade" and you will get the latest version
compiled for Debian Potato, which is basically what Progeny-Debian
uses. When you do this AFTER you have installed KDE from the Progeny
disks, your Progeny updater will NO LONGER show KDE installed. Thats
OK...it just means you have a newer version.
I believe KDE 2.1.1 or greater is MORE stable than KDE 2.0. It
certainly provides more functionality and definately looks better, IMHO.
