I am running OpenOffice (build 627) right now. I think it is much
better than SO. It never crashed on me, and has done away with the
"half window manager" nature of SO. I recommend it to any halfways
adventurous souls out there.

Someone mentioned that OO doesn't print, due to some
non-open-source-able piece of support code. Is that true?

Steve

It does not print for me under version 627 and I do not know of a workaround in my case, but you can go to the Open Office website at: http://www.openoffice.org/FAQs/mostfaqs.html and see that if you download the latest build, there are no problems with printing. I am doing that right now and I will let you know.
