It (build 623) did not eat my hard drive or anything bad! Open Office
shows tons of promise; it will be very very good someday but not today.
They have droped my biggest beef with star office and don't try to take
over the desktop. It is best if you have working java installed, but
will work without.
The install routine is well behaved and will allow you to install it
where you want it. On my laptop with 96meg of ram it is a bit slow (as
is Star Office) but on my work station with 128meg of ram it is nice and
snappy
To do office type work; choose star office; if you can help debug go for
open office, and lend the developers a hand.
