Keeping in mind that I've never worked with gtk and I'm just
discovering this stuff for myself...

I'm seeing xml files at least some of which mention GtkSourceView:
http://www.jsoftware.com/websvn/wsvn/public/trunk/ide/gtk/source/config/classic.xml
http://www.jsoftware.com/websvn/wsvn/public/trunk/ide/gtk/source/config/edit.xml
http://www.jsoftware.com/websvn/wsvn/public/trunk/ide/gtk/source/config/jstandard.xml
http://www.jsoftware.com/websvn/wsvn/public/trunk/ide/gtk/source/config/term.xml
http://www.jsoftware.com/websvn/wsvn/public/trunk/ide/gtk/source/config/term0.xml
http://www.jsoftware.com/websvn/wsvn/public/trunk/ide/gtk/source/config/view.xml

And, next to them, I see:
http://www.jsoftware.com/websvn/wsvn/public/trunk/ide/gtk/source/config/j.lang

That j.lang file contains regular expressions which represent syntax
elements for highlighting purposes, and might be what you want?
