On the page you refer to (d211.htm), one can read: "A sparse array y may be boolean, integer, floating point, complex, literal, or boxed ...". No extended integers here. You may also look at 3!:0, you'll see. They are not implemented and Roger (the implementer) did not plan for them. Could it be?
