Especially the paragraph which explains the philosophy of implementation of the J interpreter: <quote> So, first off, my understanding is that the J interpreter, while written in C, is structured much like a J program. It's doing "J things". So, to understand what it's doing, we should start with J. </quote> I've been using J only for a year now (no prior APL experience) and I still don't "think in J". Maybe I should expend more effort in becoming really comfortable with J before taking on the interpreter's C code.
