I'm afraid I only use J7 occasionally, but do have both JGTK & JHS
installed
and update occasionally using the JAL package manager. So following your
announcement, I ran JGTK a couple of days ago, ran the updates successfully
as it seemed, and then shut the session down.

I've just tried re-running JGTK and encountered this error in the DOS
window:
(Thunderbird might wrap some lines)

    C:\Windows\system32>"D:\j701\bin\jconsole" gtkide

    |domain error: cd
    | decodecesc memr 0 _1 2,~ 'libintl-8.dll gettext > + x *c'&cd<y

        JVERSION
    Engine: j701/2011-01-10/11:25
    Library: 7.01.050
    Platform: Win 32
    Installer: j701a_win.exe
    InstallPath: d:/j701

Not surprisingly, the GTK interface does not open.

I invoke JGTK with a batch file one-liner:
    "%~dp0jconsole" gtkide

Same effect whether I "run as administrator" or just double-click.
