Dear Gene Silvernail,

Every time I try to read files from a CD, the files are always read-only (which
makes sense, since my computer can't write to CDs). When I copy those files to
my hard drive, all the associated information gets copied over (date, time,
filename, etc) so the file on my hard drive is still read-only. At least until I
select the entire directory, right-click, and turn off read-only. This is true
for every kind of file, not just Protel files.

Max Henzi mentions an option I haven't seen yet.

Going off on a tangent here, I find it convenient to move files back and forth
via
