Andrew,
I forgot to mention it can also be Protel just losing it's mind for a while as
Brad Velander mentioned. I don't have this problem, but it seems to be somewhat
common. If you don't have problems with "pausing" in any other Windows
applications, I'd point the finger at Protel (although it could still be some
sort of interaction between hardware drivers and Protel).
