I find there are seemingly random occasions when updating a PCB from a library fails to work. When this happens, I use the forced manual update process described to achieve the desired aim.
It does the job, however this process is really annoying to have to go through! Why can't we have a simple button in the PCB tools so that the update can be driven either from the library editor or from the PCB editor?
