Yes, It might be good also that one of the pair be explicitly associated with either top or bottom, the other being the opposite. Absolutely desirable; an example of the use would be a drawing of the physical part to go on a top or bottom assembly drawing. The pairing would need to exist in the footprint.... It could get tricky. It might be better to allow pairing in the PCB, and to have *also* dedicated top assembly and bottom assembly layers. Tango DOS had that....
