I think there may be a bit of confusion between Shift-Del (cut selection)
and Ctrl-Del (clear selection).  Both appear to 'delete' the selected
objects from the workspace, however Shift-Del moves the selection to the
Protel clipboard, whereas Ctrl-Del does actually delete the selection.

Both of these work in both Sch and PCB editors as they are both (older)
windows style 'hot keys'.
