If somebody gives an answer I am going to archive it for myself for later
reference.

Subject: Creating Lion partition
Hi all,
I know this is veering slightly off-topic for this list but I'll ask this
anyway. Feel free to respond off-list.
I am trying to create a Lion partition for the installation of PT10. This
is going onto a 27" iMac which has 1 SSD running Mountain Lion, and another
totally blank (though formatted of course) 2TB Hd. In a nutshell: I've
followed instructions to complete the installation; namely:
1. downloaded the Lion installer;
2. extracted the appropriate DMG from the package contents/Shared Items
folder;
3. Launched Disk Utility;
4. Set things up so that the extracted DMG should (in theory) restore to the
2TB Hd.
However I get an error saying that the disk cannot be unmounted because it's
in use. It isn't being used by any applications I'm running. Anyone any
thoughts? Looking at the list archives I see others have had similar issues
which is the only reason I chose to post here on this topic; I just didn't
see their solutions.
Thanks in advance for any ideas,
Dónal
