Sorry, am coming back into this thread late. Busy day today. :)

I'm looking into Thunderbolt docks at the moment and have only gone the USB SSD
route for convenience in the short-term until I decide whether or not to
purchase a dedicated PT computer or just use this MBA with external drives.

Until I get settled with the software and evaluate any accessibility quirks it
might have, I'll probably just stay with USB / SSD unless it is unbearable. :)

If I get a new dedicated machine, I might get a new iMac but I haven't really
decided yet. I'm also thinking of another MBA as I really like the portability
and convenience.

Is anyone using an Air with a TB dock?

What do people find their fav set-ups are for using PT effectively?…

Thanks much and talk with y'all soon!

Smiles,

Cara :)

THe only new mac since late 2012 that still fw is the mac mini, so apple is
start to phase that out as well, requiring you to use fw to thunderbolt
adapters. So long as you are not running massive pro tools projects you
shouldn't have issues with USB and latency. Its the reason i haven't upgraded
to an FW drive yet.
