Years ago, I bought a Logitech blueTooth keypad for my MacBook Pro. It was OK but I just tried it the other day and it simply didn't work. New batteries in it, I couldn't get the num pad to respond at all. So much for reliability. I've ordered a new Belken num pad from Apple which should arrive in a few days. In the mean time, I found a wired num pad from a company called Adesso. Makes me wonder if they're from Odessa...
anyway, I just got it today and it's really nice. It has a retractable USB cable built into it and it works while using modifiers from the MacBook Pro's keyboard so it's a fantastic solution for MBP users wanting a numeric keypad for Pro Tools. I paid only $15 through Amazon but that might be because I'm a Prime member. Not sure but, it appears that even the higher listed price is only $20. At any rate, here's a link: http://www.amazon.com/Adesso-Numeric-Keypad-Retractable-Cord/dp/B0000TW3N8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1394466267&sr=8-3&keywords=adesso+19 I've never been comfortable with Key reMap on the MacBook because of its awkward layout. To me, the Adesso num pad is, by far, a more natural solution. I'd highly recommend it.
