Hi Alan, I'm not Slau, but yep, your understanding of modifiers in this context is spot on. Should work fine for you if you're not fussed about the numpad being wireless. I've been big on remapping up until now to keep the load as light as possible when traveling, but a numpad isn't exactly going to tip the balance, so I'll definitely be picking one up.
Cheapest I've seen on our side of the pond was Ebay, shout if you come across anything else.
