Hello all!
I’d like to dive into Pro Tools and get a taste of what I can do with it using
the free Pro Tools | First edition. I just went to the Avid Pro Tools site and
found all the details / descriptions related to Pro Tools | First. As far as I
understand, in order to download the software one has to create an ‚Avid
Master‘ account. So far so good, however unfortunately the website where one
can sign up for such an account uses a nasty captcha image… I was pretty
disappointed when I saw that, especially since no audio alternative appears to
be available… Luckily, however, sighted help was not far so I could ask for
help with entering the digits. Unfortunately, after clicking the ‚Submit‘
button, I was presented with the message that ‚the code you entered is
incorrect‘. Mistakes can always happen, so we tried again… And again… And
again… After about 5 attempts, we gave up. My sighted partner assured me that,
although the digits were quite hard to read, she was 100% sure that she got
them right. I’m sure that she’s absolutely right and that, most likely, I’m
stuck due to a problem with the registration website… So that made me wonder,
has anyone else on here tried registering for an Avid Master account? Did you
experience the same issues, or did the registration process go through smoothly
(except for the captcha, of course)? Is there perhaps another, easier way of
downloading Pro Tools | First? The registration experience has been quite
frustrating so far, so I sure hope that there’s another solution to this
problem! :-)
Thanks a lot for any help and advice and all the best,
Robin
