The Pace iLok inaccessibility strikes again.
Luckily many companies are willing to remote in and transfer licenses for us. I hate having to even ask though, and this has been going on for years! *sigh*

Hello Scott,
thank you for that info!
My iLok 2nd gen USB dongle arrived today and I quickly discovered that the License Manager is totally inaccessible, most likely due to the underlying QT framework… So, whatt I did was I registered at ilok.com to get my user ID and password, then went to the Avid website to sign up for the Pro Tools 30-day trial. Right after that, I could see the PT license in my iLok account using the iLok website, but of course at this point my USB dongle was still not functional. I then contacted the Avid support center by phone, where I explained my situation to a very friendly rep. He then told me that usually, Avid does not offer support for trial versions. However in my particular case, since this was a ‚software activvation issue‘, he could offer me to connect to my machine remotely and transfer the license over to my iLok. He then explained what I had to do in order to establish the remote access connection and it only took him about a minute to work through the iLok License Manager setup. So I now have a fully functional iLok USB key as well as a 30-day trial of PT, perfect! At this point, however, the PT interface seems just a tiny bit daunting… But I suppose that that’s because I’m using a professional DAW for the very first time! So, looks like my next step will be to get the Pro Tools with speech tutorials.
Thanks a lot to all of you who assisted me in getting on track with PT 11, looks like I now have a lot of stuff ahead of me to get into! :-)
All the best,
Robin
