Vinny,
Absolutely perfect! That's exactly what I was trying to ask, yes. I
figured that was probably going to be the answer, but I just wanted to be
absolutely sure. Thank you very much for the confirmation.
How're you guys that're using Ivory getting along with the Italian Grand,
now that we have the presets? I, personally love 'em!

Hi Chris,
I believe what you're asking is what should the name of the folder be that
would be associated with the actual plug-in. If that's the question, then
the folder of the plug-in has to match the name of the plug-in exactly. If
it is different in any way, it will not be associated to the plug-in. One
way to do this is to create a plug-in setting right from the plug-in. you'll
see that a Setting will be created within the folder of the exact name of
that plug-in and if The folder for that plug-in doesn't already exist, it
will be created.
Ultimately, what you need to remember is that the upper level of the folder
structure needs to be named exactly like the plug-in. The subfolders you
create under that main folder can be anything you'd like to name them.

Vinny

Chris,
Those folders can be called anything you want because they're simply user
presets. The fact that Avid's own presets and some third party presets are
included is just a convenience. When I did the names for the other pianos,
I followed what the preset category name was and what the piano preset was
for each instrument. Further, those preset folders and names can be
changed right in the Finder.

Slau,
You bring me actually to a valid question.
Under the plugin settings folder, I have a folder called Ivory, which has
all of the presets from each set in their own folders.
For example:
~/Documents/Protools/Plugin Settings/Ivory/American Concert D.
My question is, when making custom presets for a plugin, such as Ivory,
how does one know what the name of the most top level folder under plugin
presets should be.
Like, in the case of Ivory, it's literally just called "Ivory," but how
can one get the info needed to know what to call that top folder, so that
ProTools knows the correct plugin to associate the presets with?

There are only a handful of people using Ivory on the list and they
probably already know this but, just in case, make sure to place the
Italian Grand presets into a dedicated folder within the Ivory folder in
the Plug-in settings folder alongside the other folders I posted on the
ProToolsWithSpeech.com site. Otherwise, the presets alone within the
Ivory folder will show up as random presets. The preset menu in the
plug-ins window reflects the folder structure of the Plug-in Settings
folder in the Finder.
