thanks for your solution re the plextalk doing the "please wait" thing. If i 
take out the battery and hit the clear all settings command, it fixes it. 
but it only does so temporarily. it has recurred. this probelm didn't occur 
before i installed the new firmware. it seems the firmware has a serious 
bug.
are the folks at plextor monitoring this list serve to see about this kind 
of bug?
