This is the configuration that I'm currently using. Some caveats:
* hw:0,1 appears to work, but does not produce output on any port. So
I've resorted to using iec958:0, which does work but which cannot be
accessed simultaneously with hw:0,0 . This is not a PA problem, since
aplay can't do it either: {{{aplay: pcm_write:1528: write error:
Input/output error}}}
* any channel configuration other than the 12in/10out will result in ALSA
errors, so I've removed every attempt at an "all stereo" configuration
* I've not added profiles for more exotic digital output configuration
like ac3 passthrough or a52 recoding, it can probably be done (the card
supports spdif "data" mode) but I can't test it.
This gives me 3 working outputs (but not all simultaneous) and live stream
migration between all of them (via profile switching). There is still a
(minor) mixer-path issue because when I mute the system-out port with
alsamixer I cannot unmute it with pavucontrol, but at least the current
profiles work...
