Issue #2349 has been updated by Luke Kanies. Status changed from Unreviewed to Needs design decision Target version deleted (0.25.0)
Is it possible to have the responsefile parameter support both? That is, would the response file every look like an actual file name? I guess it's not a big deal either way, but for some reason I like to avoid profusion of parameters. And it doesn't go into 0.25 unless there's code and tests, or it's a bug. :) ---------------------------------------- Feature #2349: apt provider should support 'responsedata' just like 'responsefile' http://projects.reductivelabs.com/issues/2349 Author: Nigel Kersten Status: Needs design decision Priority: Normal Assigned to: Nigel Kersten Category: Target version: Complexity: Unknown Affected version: 0.25.0 Keywords: We're looking to use preseed data with apt a lot more, so have been experimenting with the responsefile parameter for apt, but it's kind of clunky given you have to deliver the file to the client and set up relationships by hand. I'm proposing adding a responsedata parameter where you simply specify this in the puppet manifest itself, rather than relying upon a separate file. As debconf-set-selections accepts input on stdin, this should be trivial to do. -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
