Issue #21133 has been updated by Klavs Klavsen.
Well - atleast MSI's add DisplayVersion (and often .exe seems to do too) to the registry - the same place where the current windows package handling looks for the package name. IMHO it should also pull the version from "DisplayVersion". I f.ex. - would like to upgrade puppet from my 3.1.1 to 3.2.3-rc1 - by simply stating which version I want - just as I do on Unix. ---------------------------------------- Feature #21133: Add versionable feature to windows package provider https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/21133#change-94108 * Author: matt f * Status: Needs More Information * Priority: Normal * Assignee: * Category: * Target version: * Affected Puppet version: * Keywords: windows * Branch: ---------------------------------------- package provider on windows does not report package version:
C:\marionette-collective\bin>puppet resource package Puppet package { 'Puppet': ensure => 'installed', }
On linux the version is reported:
# puppet resource package puppet package { 'puppet': ensure => '3.2.1-1.el6', }
This above example is on puppet for windows version 3.2.1 -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
