so, p:d kernel boots the alix3c3[1] , right now it runs from a CF
card... ala liveCD
i needed to modify xorg.conf to get to see the puredyne xfce4 desktop
(tx anton) but now my question is how to make changes permanent?
i guess i kind of need to recompress the squashfs image, but that
makes little sense, since i have in the same card lenny.. i might just
copy the kernel and compare it with the one i had compiled.

so i have a CF card that i use with grub to boot debian lenny on a
small computer. the image in the card uses the p:d reps and conforms
a system that opens pd and streams audio via wireless or cable no
questions asked....
wanting to try L&P on them I proceeded today to download the iso.
-mounted -o loop the .iso to try to cp -rv /live to /
my first problem was that i couldn't see the whole structure inside /
live . mount -o loop doesn't expand the .img inside it.. (it might
require squashfs or extra steps..???)
Im thinking i could boot from l&p as a LiveCD and cp -rv the system
structure to / in my CF, then modify grub accordingly. could that be
a cheap and effective way to get around?
phps im too used to the docking method and got confused deciding
what method will be the best one for my case.
so any advice is very much welcome.
tx!
