Thank you, RIcardo, for the fast anwer.

On the page you told me is written:

"Prepare the keyCreate partition and filesystem
Using a GUI (Recommended method)"

what is this? getting into, it tells me "In a terminal type" Which terminal, dont I need linux for that? which I dont have and dont know yet how to install on my lap. tried bootcamp, refit, refit booting worked once, but no the system, now even that

"Command line method" - also are commands which are chinese to me. Ok, if you tell me what chinese signs I should write i can do it, but where on?

"Install and configure the liveUSB
Now that your key is ready" ha, isnt! ", we can copy the right files to it and install the bootloader. Assuming the key is already plugged, that its device is /dev/sdb and that we want to put the live system on the first partition.

Using unetbootin (the easy way)": runs on linux and windows, not mac
"Download unetbootin from sourceforge. http:// unetbootin.sourceforge.net This is the easiest way for creating a live usb, with one mouseclick.

Using syslinux"
ok, here we are again.

so i'm kind of stucked. Can you help me? I feel I'm in the state of knowledge where you cant tell me "go to the Eiffel tower", feel like you have to tell me "look for the sign saying metro, walk down, take the blue metro line, get off at station Eiffel tower - walk up...." Sorry

thanx for any help

               Hi Andres!

Did you follow all the steps listed at http://code.goto10.org/projects/puredyne/wiki/liveUSBInstall ? At which one does the process fails? Does the pure:dyne liveCD or liveUSB work well on your macbook?

            Grüße!

Ok. hello. I am quite deseperated with the installation of Pure Dyne. I cant make it run nor on a stick nor on a partition of my disc. I have a macbookpro unibody with os X.5.8. But I hav no clue with linux, terminal and so on. Just copying the contents didn't really make it...

6 months ago I found puredyne, since there every month I spend 2 days trying to understand, looking in forums and so. I dont have windows or linux, thought I have to had a linux to make a bootable (apple disk utility says error 254 if I want to restore), but even didn't suceed on that. Downloaded slax, refit, and so on.

I work visuals with quartz, and give workshops for starting arstists in mexico. I want to know more about open source in art to give it to this people (i like a lot the concept behind goto10). Thatfore I have to learn a lot.... So I thought pureDyne would be the perfect way of a) give them open source tools, and b) start standarized despite of different computers. I would like to give them a USB with pure dyne at the end of every workshop, but cant even make the first for me! And wpuld like to have a dual boot on my machine, so I can run pure dyne (and backtrace) from it.

Any help for this absolute noob in typing commands will be greatly apreciated....

greetings, now from berlin

Andres
