I've had some problems with liveCDs, but liveDVDs works for me so
far. Don't know where this issue might be, i checked the md5sum's, burned
the liveCDs twice and it keeps throwing I/O errors at boot time. Have you
tried the liveDVD version?
          I'm also running plain debian with some apps that I compiled
myself, but it's on a PC, so the kernel wouldn't help you. Compiling one is
