I'll let Bijan say more about this, as I've talked with him about it
many times. I just want to say that Dave Winer is a *master* of
ignoring what is called in the patent context 'prior art,' which
WikiWikis certainly are.
Bijan and I are working on a Swiki for http://monkeyfist.com/ and,
when we're done, which won't be more than a few days total work, we'll
have basically what editthispage.com gives people. And it will all be
open source.
Finally, I tried to use editthispage.com for a bit as an experiment
and I found it unwieldy and fairly unreliable. I'd much rather put my
Python skills, or my new Smalltalk skills, to work rather than learn the
proprietary, closed language that 'powers' editthispage.com.
Just my 2 cents. YMMV (though I doubt it).
