If this is true, and you need to generate support, you could try to
enlist Dan Gillmor of the SJ Mercury News. He uses Manila (I'm pretty
sure) for his daily e-journal. He has given Dave Winer some recurring
press about this and other things.
Dan is also pretty vocal about the silliness and danger of some
software patents. He may have some useful advice about Dave Winer,
patents, and protecting Wikis.
