The Pydev .zip provided is the one you should extract to be in the dropins. For the update site, there\'s no distribution (only the actual update site -- and it\'s not just adding the site.xml there). Can\'t you just copy eclipse locally and use it in the dropins? Otherwise, the option would be getting the .jars from the update site, as well as the site.xml for having a local update site.
