(1) The documentation always states use easy_install or
distribute, and usually either omits pip or advises against
its use.
Where is this advise against pip ? (easy_install pyramid alone
will install 1.5 also isn'it ?)
It's in the master branch in two new pages. Once these new
pages are battle-tested and finalized, they should be pushed
down to 1.4-branch. Compare master and latest searches.
http://docs.pylonsproject.org/projects/pyramid/en/master/search.html?q=pip
http://docs.pylonsproject.org/projects/pyramid/en/latest/search.html?q=pip
Mostly the advice is by omission of pip altogether, and by
emphasis of the preferred methods.
http://docs.pylonsproject.org/projects/pyramid/en/latest/search.html?q=easy_install
http://docs.pylonsproject.org/projects/pyramid/en/latest/search.html?q=distribute
Specific example is here.

(4) Finally, and most importantly, if you complain about the
docs, then you should submit a pull request and do something
about it. Help improve the docs to make them clearer.
Of course, i try...
