I'll upgrade to the latest tools (well, XCode 2.2.1 -- I've got that on

I've upgraded the developer tools, which gives me gcc 4, which lets me
build gcc-3.4.4 from source. I can use that in turn to build
PyLucene, and with the newer developer tools, the test for
-LSystemStubs in the Makefile also works fine. (Though I still think
it's a bad test -- it should check the version of "ld", not the
version of the OS).
Is it a linker version issue or a system library issue ?
Maybe it should check for the version of Apple dev tools installed. How does
one do that ?
Andi..
