Hi guys, I enjoyed the meeting on Thursday and it was good to meet you all, even though I had to leave before the end.
Have you considered changing the venue to something other than a pub? Rain Bar was noisy and there wasn't much space to sit and chat. I realise that in leaving early, I missed the end of the meeting where you discussed further meetings. I'd highly recommend MADLAB for a meeting venue (www.madlab.org.uk). It's in Manchester city centre and is already used by many other programming groups. I attend XP Manchester, GeekUp Manchester, Manchester Free Software and North West Perl Mongers there. I've also just come back from BarCamp Manchester at MADLAB. It's a fantastic venue and any programming group can hire it as long as they're not running the meeting for profit. They have a dedicated meeting room with a projector and tables. You can bring alcohol along and they usually have some of their own for sale. I don't think that you could book it for the third Thursday of each month as it was the North West Ruby User Group at MADLAB on Thursday. If you were prepared to change the meeting day though, I'm sure MADLAB would be able to fit you in. What do you think?
