What about the new site? plone? I remember talks about it few month ago. I would like to play with zope :-)
http://plone.python.org.il It's up and running for some time now (It think since May). In our wiki, we have this page: http://www.python.org.il/mediawiki/index.php/New_website referring to it. In there I had asked the plone enthusiasts to add some more specific deltails about the new site. I got no response, so I opened an account, and asked for privileges (I asked Ofer using the contact interface on the site itself, and also emailed Eli privately) - I still got no response. You can try opening an account, but there's really nothing interesting you can do without special privileges (we don't want just private folders - we want a fully functional site to replace our current one). If Eli or Ofer are reading this - I suggest you give some more people (e.g., but not necessarily, me) the privilege to add privileges to new users. (If that's possible - maybe it would be better if you give automatic full rights to all new users. Even spam is better than nothing at all - it'd be a pity if we get stuck due to some stupid bureaucratic problems). Disclaimer: ---------------- this message is NOT an obligation to actively and single handedly develop the contents of the new site. I might or might not contribute depending on availability of (relatively) free time (I'm NOT any less busy than the rest of you, and I like a full night's sleep as much as anyone). I'm just saying that people without any privileges will CERTAINLY NOT contribute. I urge everyone to note that our problem is NOT lack of ideas/opinions/criticism, nor lack of technical solutions/knowhow. It is only lack of people willing to spend time on ACTUAL CONTENTS. AA
