Hi,

I have a weird problem when including a sequence of
PyX generated plots into LaTeX.

I have put an example at
  http://www.physik.tu-dresden.de/~baecker/tmp/pyx_embed/pyx_embed_prob.ps

When trying to display page 3 of this file with gv
a longish ghostscript error messages appears,
and the figure is shown corrupted.
Interestingly, the corresponding file,
remapped_combined.eps, displays fine with gv for me.

One of the problems with this problem is that
it is difficult to provide a minimal example.
Any further change to the TeX file (even at
completetely different places in the text)
can make the problem dissappear.

In order to track this down a little bit further
I would very much appreciate your help:

First I would be interested if it is a bug in my
version of gv/ghostscript:

a) does

http://www.physik.tu-dresden.de/~baecker/tmp/pyx_embed/psplots/remapped_combined.eps
   look fine with gv?
   (it does for me)
b) does page 3 of
       pyx_embed_prob.eps
   display without error?
c) if you recreate the .ps/.pdf (see howto.txt), does the
   problem persist?

(note that revtex4 is needed for this:
   \documentclass[floats,aps,showpacs,twocolumn]{revtex4}
   changing this to, for example \documentclass{article}
let's the problem dissappear - another manifestation
of the heisenbug character of the problem ;-()

I am using (not sure if any of these matters):
- gs -v
  AFPL Ghostscript 8.14 (2004-02-20)
- latex -v
  eb2C 7.4.5) 3.14159-2.1
  kpathsea version 3.4.5
- dvipdfm -v
  dvipdfm, version 0.13.2cy
- pyx from svn:
  pyx.__version__
  '0.8+'

Any ideas are welcome,

Arnd
