I just see that it should have been:
  pyx_embed_prob.ps

Very interesting - on a different machine I have
ESP Ghostscript 7.07.1 (2003-07-12)
and get the same type error:

Maybe a postscript guru can parse this - I am at complete loss here ;-)

Many thanks for these tests! This
might indicate a problem with my version of gs
(I think Andre runs the latest versions, so maybe it works for him ;-).
Maybe some further data points are needed ...
