Hi Arnd, here's a report from your Saxonian neighbour, using AFPL Ghostscript 8.51 (2005-04-18).

Sorry I don't have time to, but there's a more interesting point: displaying the "problem ps" with gs shows no errors, only gv does! Similarly, using ps2pdf (which calls gs) runs smoothly, the resulting pdf displays without problems in acroread *as well as gv*. So it seems to be some PS code that gv chokes upon but gs doesn't; or that gv somehow messes with the PS stack???
