I still have a related problem with SVN 6195, but slightly different.

When I start QGIS the default filetype in print composer is PDF. I set
up a map, specify a path to an EPS file - then I get the infamous
errors: "cannot find boundingbox" and "cannot find translate". But, if
I let QGIS print to PDF once, from then on printing to *any* format
becomes possible in the current session - be it PDF, PS or EPS. What
the devil?

That's better now, thanks.

Moreover I noticed map composer works way faster now, and the artifact
lines when rendering polygons are gone. Great!
