In my first reply, I forgot to mention that having used QemuLator (Windows
version) for a few weeks to do a review for QL Today, you could do worse
than to try the Windows version of QemuLator. The beauty of this emulator is
that it can run both QDOS ROMs (e.g. JS, Minerva) and the Gold Card version
of SMSQ/E, so you get to choose between the best of both worlds if you
register for the more expensive version, which is still cheaper than QPC2.
Compatibility with older QL software seemed to be quite good in the time I
used it. I think (I hope the author is till offering this) that you can get
a free temporary registration to let you try out QemuLator for a short time
before it reverts to its slow demo mode. There'll be a pretty extensive
review in the next issue of QL Today.
