What is the official position of the current rights holder(s) (Tony Tebby, I believe) on letting people make TK2 ROM images freely available on the web for downoload? Of course the TK2 would be accompanied by a readme file stating that Tony Tebby fully retains the copyright, that TK2 is unsupported (and it's not ok to contact Tony Tebby or anybody else asking for support) and that it cannot be distributed for a fee.
I don't think there is potential for selling copies of TK2 anymore, nor that a freely available TK2 would hurt SMSQ/E, as SMSQ/E is so much more advanced and caters to a different type of users. A public statement about TK2 being free for non-commercial use would benefit users of emulators that are interested in running early QL programs requiring TK2 extensions, and at the same time preserve copies of the TK2 for its historical and educational value. Tony, do you think this would be feasible? Jochen (Merz), any objections? (Tony indicated you as the only TK2 licensee. You replied in a private email that TK2 is not your property, but a public statement to that effect on this forum would be appreciated). Anybody else holding rights to TK2?
