Perhaps QL DOOM would be a better place to start ( also open source), it'd look good in 256 colours on my Aurora. This is all perfectly possible, I mean, I'm so impressed with ZM/hT plus it shows what can be achieved with an expanded QL, I wish I had the skills of the developer, I would happily develop for the QL in my spare time just to wow with the results.
