Just tried to check the details for this show but most of the websites (Quanta, JMS, QLT) only refer to last year's one or mention this year's dates as "provisional" and give no detail. Since Quanta's doesnt even show the year, I was initially confused into thinking the next Hove show would be on 28th May!
Found more recent info on Q-Branch'es site (thanks Roy) and it appears the JMS site has been updated since last I looked. I know how difficult it is to keep websites up-to-date, and considering how few people turn up - and how unprofitable it all is, Im not complaining. (Honest!) It may just help a few more people to turn up at shows if accurate information were available in a timely manner at the most obvious place for it: On the Quanta website. Everyone else could just link to that. A couple of things I would find very helpful in this respect would be: @ A list of traders who intend to be there @ A list of punters who intend to be there @ Show details (presentations, debates, etc) @ Mailto links to the persons arranging the dinner, presentations, volunteers, etc @ A list of hotels @ Directions @ Any other relevant, accurate and up-to-date information (football matches, major road works, etc) Regarding the first item, traders who intended to attend could supply Quanta with links to their own Show Page by a certain date. Regarding the second, there could be a facility allowing punters logging on the the website to (optionally) add their names to the attendance list or to check if someone they know is coming too.. New users, or old users with new problems, whether they be hardware or software related, might find it useful to know who can, and are willing to, offer help and advice on their kind of problem, and whether they are going to be there on the day. If that were organised rather than left to chance it might make show attendance more worthwhile..? Dreaming is easy, doing is hard, but if no one knows what people want it certainly wont happen.
