However Quanta's old Web Master told us some time ago that he had no intention of updating the site any further. I have managed to find the way to update the Magazine extract simply by overwriting the relevant file but other than that, nothing has been changed for some considerable time simply because none of the members are willing to use their web publishing knowledge to help their fellow members. One of the tasks which Quanta took on board at last year's AGM was to find a Web Master and ask him/her to revamp the Web Site from scratch. To the utter astonishment of certain Quanta critics, this has been achieved. We looked around both inside and outside Quanta's membership and found us a guy who has now become a member of Quanta and who is working on a completely new Web Site hosted by a new sponsor and hopes to be able to present his initial work in a number of different forms at the AGM. Like the rest of us, his time is limited and work on the New Site seemed a better bet than trying to update the old site. Our new Web Site Provider has merely allowed us to transfer the old site over to his web space in order that we maintain a presence on the web. I know that any comments are being considered seriously and I will make sure that your comments above are passed on to him. Now then, details for the Hove Quanta AGM and Workshop: Quanta members should refer to Quanta Magazine Volume 23 Issue 6 Page 26 or Volume 24 Issue 1 pages 19/20 where they will find most of the details. Subscribers to QLToday should refer to QLToday Volume 11 issue 3 Pages 13 and 50 (rear Cover) where they to well find most of the details. ql-users list subscribers have been recently updated by Roy Wood the event organiser with a list of suitable hotels and he told us that the dinner is booked to arrive at 8.00 pm. for dinner at 8.30 pm. As Roy puts it "It's a day by the seaside, what more could you ask for?" Obviously there are people out there who not only want MORE details but also want the old ones again and AGAIN. On looking at the old Web Site, I agree that the advert for last year's shows do not say "2006" which leads to extra confusion - Web Master Please Note!! I hope that this helps those who haven't yet made their mind up whether to attend the AGM and Workshop and we all look forward to seeing you there. Kind Regards, John Gilpin. on behalf of QUANTA Committee members. _______________________________________________ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm
