I undertstand writing (such) assembler programs is not easy (personaly I
never succeed in writing a single line): but speed enhancement is
tremendous. Sad QL harware is so far from PC ;-(
To avoid loading an entire image, it would be useful to have a browser to
show image information first (type, size, number of colours and more for
TIFF and Exif format) and, when available, then to give access to thumbnail.

Oh yes, I have also worked out a legal way of requesting pointer input on a
window at the same time as being able to access the same window in real time
(ie, not just using a finite timeout then 'updating' window periodically
based
on timeout).
